Lisa Oman is a nonprofit management leader serving forward-thinking performing arts and educational organizations with a 15-year track record of guiding strategic planning, fundraising, financial management, and program development at nationally-recognized institutions. She has served the arts and culture, music, dance, and theater communities as executive director, finance director, board member, festival co-producer, and founding officer of two organizations in addition to presenting at conferences, professional development workshops and serving on industry panels. She has brought to successful premiere 45 commissions and 78 premieres and has worked alongside top talent across the professional performing and educational music sectors. In addition to developing legacy bequests, major sponsorships, and major individual gifts, Lisa and her artistic teams have been recognized and awarded by The National Endowment for the Arts and numerous leading arts funding organizations such as The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, the Fromm Music Foundation, Creative Work Fund, Clarence E. Heller Charitable Foundation and many others.
In 2011, Lisa founded Composers and Schools in Concert and currently serves as the organization’s President. Lisa holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Cultural History from Gonzaga University, a professional certificate in Arts Management from the University of Massachusetts, and a professional certificate in Executive Leadership from Cornell University. Her training as a western classical trumpet player led her to a lifelong pursuit of encouraging creativity, producing works for ensembles of all configurations, and developing educational programs that open doors for students to become lifelong music creators, performers, advocates, and patrons. Lisa provides advising services for performing arts organizations and ensembles across the country.
